Funko Pop UK: New Releases, Exclusives and Collector Favourites

Funko Pop figures are one of the most collected toys in the UK. With oversized heads, tiny bodies and thousands of characters, there is a Pop for every fan, from Marvel and Star Wars to anime, horror and football. At PopCultureUK, a London-based collectibles shop, Funko Pops are at the heart of what we do. This guide covers what's popular right now, the different Pop types, and how to find the right figure for you or as a gift.

What is a Funko Pop?

A Funko Pop is a vinyl figure made by Funko, an American collectibles company. A standard Pop stands about 9.5cm (3.75 inches) tall and comes in a window box with a number in the top corner. Fans collect them by franchise, by character or simply because they love the style. Many collectors keep them boxed on shelves, while others take them out and arrange them in scenes.

Exclusives, chases and vaulted Pops

Three words come up again and again when collecting Funko Pops in the UK.

Exclusives are sold by one retailer or at one event, such as a convention. They usually have a sticker on the box and are made in smaller numbers.

Chase variants are rare versions of a figure, packed at random into cases. Many are quoted at around 1 in 6 odds, but it varies by release. They often have a different colour, finish or pose.

Vaulted Pops are retired figures that Funko no longer makes. Prices can rise once a Pop is vaulted, so grab favourites while they're still in stock.

How to choose the right Funko Pop

  1. Start with what they love. A Pop from a favourite film or show will always be a hit.

  2. Check their shelf. Collectors hate duplicates, so look before you buy.

  3. Think about size. A Jumbo makes a big impression; a standard Pop fits any collection.

  4. Look for something special. Glow-in-the-dark, metallic and flocked finishes make a figure stand out.

Why buy Funko Pops from a UK shop?

Buying from a UK-based shop means prices in pounds and no surprise import fees at the door. You also get a local team you can contact if anything goes wrong. As a London shop, PopCultureUK can also help you track down a figure if it's out of stock. Just get in touch via our About Us page.

Looking after your Pops

Keep figures out of direct sunlight to stop the vinyl and boxes fading. Use clear Pop! protectors for rare or boxed figures, and dust loose Pops with a soft make-up brush. If your collection is growing, shelves at least 12cm deep will hold boxed Pops without overhang.

Funko Pops as gifts

Funko Pops make brilliant gifts because they're affordable, collectable and there's one for every fandom. They suit birthdays, Secret Santa and stocking fillers. Pair a Pop with a matching mug or keychain for a bigger present. For more ideas, see our geek gifts UK guide.
